The Tea Party: Correcting the Narrative

leave a comment »

The Tea Party narrative in America has been drafted, perfected, and advanced by the Political Left and its cronies through the mainstream media.

It is a false narrative.

It’s time for all people who believe in limited government as determined by the constitution of the United States of America, the separation of powers, and individual liberty and self-determination, to correct the narrative and help all of America’s citizens understand the truth about this movement. It’s time to tell the president, the congress, Wall Street, and Corporate America their gig is up. We will not tolerate the game being played to the detriment of all working Americans who just want to provide the best life they can for their families and those they love.

The Tea Party is not a movement full extremists doing damage to this country. Any objective person, using common sense, can quickly see where the power lies and who is truly damaging every American’s ability to determine his or her own future and how they live their lives.

It’s time to stop listening to a so-called free press that is no longer an objective observer or watch dog. The major media voices are bought and sold. Time to stop being told what to believe. Time to stop assuming the media is acting as another check and balance on our government or has your best interests at heart. Start doing your own homework. Take down the shields and barriers and give the other side a fair hearing.

Study the founding documents of this nation and weigh your findings against the standards set in those time-tested principles.

Then decide where you stand.

Dear Republican/Democrat “Base,” Why Do You Let Your Party Take You For Fools?

leave a comment »

This post comes via a challenge.

Reg Saddler @Politics_PR on twitter tweeted a link to a blog post by Milt Shook on The PCTC* Blog titled, “Dear Republican Base, Why Do You Let Your Party Take You For Fools.”

As I read this “interesting” post it became very clear that it was written from pure ideology as opposed to reasoned, logical, or factual thought. OK there were some facts scattered here and there but without any citation or way to confirm them. Accusations were made with no evidence.  Stereotypes were strewn about like dirty socks on the bedroom floor of triplets.

That’s when it dawned on me how easy it would be to simply switch the word Republican for Democrat, red state for blue state, conservative pundits with liberal ones, and turn the post into a completely different slant without actually rewriting it.  It was easy because it was lazy for the most part. 99.9% opinion.

I tried to stick to the original text as much as possible only exchanging words and names.  In some cases I had to change the viewpoint of some paragraphs from anti-right to anti-left.  Basically providing the counter argument to the original premise.  I admit I had a ton of fun doing it.

So what does this really prove or show?  That far too often we believe our own crap doesn’t stink but the other guy’s does.  That we can become too zealous for our own good to the point that we are blind to the inefficiencies, inaccuracies, and inconsistencies of our own team.  That in actuality we are far closer in our core views and values than we like to admit.  Right, left, or center.

It’s silly.  But then so was this challenge.  I’m hopeful @kakkers123 @Politics_PR get a kick out of it.  They’re probably the only ones who will read it or understand what it even means.

The original post can be found here The PCTC* Blog I suggest reading it first for context.

The Switcheroo Version:

Dear Democrat “Base,” Why Do You Let Your Party Take You For Fools?

I really don’t understand why the people in blue states continue to vote Democrat, and do so habitually. Why do none of them take the time to realize that the Democratic leadership is playing them for fools. Therefore, I am directing this to the Democrats who make up their party’s “base.”

Do you know why the Democrat Party says the things they do to? It’s because you fall for it, that’s why. They’re trying to fleece you, and you let them! Actually, not only do you let them, you practically insist that they continue.

Look at the loudest voices on the Democratic side. Do you really think people like Lawrence O’Donnell, Ed Schultz, Michael Moore and the like actually believe the crap they spout? They sure don’t live the way they demand you live. O’Donnell is an avowed socialist, who oddly has never chosen to actually move to a socialist country. Apparently he likes the way capitalism works and the money he makes preaching the life he chooses not to live. Then there’s this left-wing Democrat Socialist caused controversy over his intro for an interview with Michael Steele which was considered racially insensitive. He said, “Michael Steele is dancing as fast as he can, trying to charm independent voters and Tea Partiers while never losing sight of his real master and paycheck provider, the Republican National Committee.” He apologizes more often for his inaccurate remarks on TV than the president does for the country on his international tours.

The highest profile Democrat mouthpieces, like Rachel Maddow, Bill Maher, Piers Morgan, and countless others have others write books full of lies, slander and bigotry for them (you don’t really think they write them, do you?), because they know the Democrat “base” will buy them, and left-wing websites will give them away as premiums to those of you who pay them every month for the privilege of reading their lies.

Progressive Press has built a website selling books that no one actually reads, because no one knows they exist. If you think I’m kidding, go to progressivepress.com and see for yourself. If you thought the right were conspiracy theorists just wait till you get a load of these titles!

These people, who are heavily sponsored by the Democrat Party and their sponsors, tell you guys what you want to hear, and you fall for it. If you look closely, they never actually do anything; they know you’ll support them with lots of money, because you seem to have no idea you’re being fleeced. This is the Mainstream Media business model; tell you left wingers what you want to hear, regardless of the facts, and collect money for doing so. They repeat Democratic talking points because that’s what makes them money. I will guarantee you that, if conservatives were as gullible, there would be a conservative network like you Libs have with the Mainstream Media.

You folks in the Democratic “base” are the veritable wet dream of environmental extremists, unions, and socialists of the country, because you’re gullible. You have little to no money, and you will buy anything “certain people” want to sell you. The current leadership of the Democrat Party are nothing more than snake oil salesmen, and they count on the “base” to be dumb enough to buy anything they sell, no matter how ludicrous and fraudulent what they’re selling is.

If you’re part of the Democrat “base,” what the hell is wrong with you? Red states are better places to live; they feature more jobs, better pay, better education, less crime and an overall better standard of living. I’ve proven it with the numbers in another blog post. The only reason your states get away with higher taxes is because, well, you’re gullible and think you’re getting something for your money.

Think about it. Most people who habitually vote Democrat have almost no money, and yet, you cheer when the Democrats screw you by playing favorites with Wall Street, exchanging favors for campaign dollars, and turning a blind eye when they ship jobs overseas or replace you with automation and technology. Why do that to yourself? Because Bill Clinton was hot? Because Barack Obama is mesmerizing? Perhaps you haven’t noticed, but most of the Democrat “base” has seen almost nothing from all those tax increases and stimulus packages. According to a CBO report the stimulus actually hurt the economy over the long-term.

I guess the question is, Democrats, how stupid are you? You know your states are economic toilets, where the unions and corporation cronies get treated like kings, while the average person is treated like a serf. You are being played, Democrat “base,” and the way you get played just keeps getting more absurd.

For example, let’s look at the Affordable Care Act for a moment, shall we? You know it as Obamacare.

If you are one of those who think it’s a good law and will help everyone, you’re a stone fool, and you’re being played by the Democrat Party leadership. Need proof Obamacare is a bad idea? President Obama has already signed 14 laws that amend, rescind, or otherwise change parts of his own health care law, and he’s taken five independent steps to “delay” Obamacare on his own. Odd behavior for someone who said this law was the best thing since raspberry white chocolate cheesecake.

Obamacare has turned out to be perhaps the biggest job killer in US history. Companies (who weren’t special enough to get exemptions from the law) are laying off workers or cutting hours below the new 30 hour work week to avoid ACA requirements, while others are just trying to lighten the books enough to allow them to pay for Obamacare and not go under. Telling employees, too bad, sorry, we wish we could keep you, but…

See, what your Democrat handlers are doing is fleecing you. They’re taking campaign funds from you by making promises that they can’t possibly keep. Social security, medicare, and other entitlement programs are headed for bankruptcy. More Americans rely on government handouts than ever before. You know, you guys are always at the head of the line. All of this is bad for the economy which has gotten worse every year of Obama’s presidency, but you keep thinking he’s the best leader since Jimmy carter.

Therefore, how pissed off will you be when the SS checks stop coming or you’re no longer considered for that medical procedure because your old and you’ll die soon anyway. Even your trusted Democratic leaders now admit to death panels. Oh they don’t call em that but that’s what they are.

Stop believing everything the Democrat BS machine puts out there for you to buy. Learn to think for yourselves, Democrats. They’re lying to you, to make lots of money from you. At some point, you have to open your eyes and look around and realize this.

The 8.3% Unemployment Mirage

with 2 comments

Wall Street and Major Media were doing high fives and feeling warm and fuzzy after news that 243,000 jobs were added to the economy in January lowering the unemployment rate to 8.3% down from 9.1% in August 2012.

But there’s a fundamental problem with that 8.3 number.  It’s a mirage or at best it paints a very fuzzy picture.

I’m not suggesting the number isn’t real.  It just doesn’t tell the whole story, because that story isn’t politically appetizing.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics the real indicator as to how many Americans are working or not is the Labor Force Participation Rate.   The labor force participation rate is the percentage of working-age persons in an economy who are employed or are unemployed but looking for a job.  Typically “working-age persons” is defined as people between the ages of 16-64. People in those age groups who are not counted as participating in the labor force are typically students, homemakers, and persons under the age of 64 who are retired. In the United States the labor force participation rate is usually around 67-68%.  This figure can dramatically affect the “Unemployment Rate” often touted by media and politicians as the leading indicator of the health of the economy.

Well, the number of people no longer in the workforce just launched upward like a rocket.

It appears that the people no longer in the labor force exploded by an unprecedented record1.2 million in January.   These are people who have stopped looking for work.  The labor force increased from 153.9 million to 154.4 million, the non institutional population increased by 242.3 million meaning, the number of people not in the labor force surged from 86.7 million to 87.9 million. The bottom line?  The civilian labor force just took a nose dive to a new 30 year low of 63.7% and the BLS is planning on eliminating nearly half of the available labor pool from the unemployment calculation.

When you don’t count 1.2 million people to get to your 8.3% unemployment rate…well, you see what I mean?

Now some of the drop off is due to baby boomers retiring and younger workers going back to school, but that can’t account for 1.2 million people.  Many are just people who’ve become discouraged after months or even years of looking and quit.   Since they’re no longer receiving unemployment benefits they simply aren’t counted in the unemployment figures.

It’s an election year.  Don’t expect this mirage to dissipate any time soon.

The 99% vs The Tea Party

with 2 comments

There has been a lot of talk in the media recently about the Occupy Wall Street movement being the Liberal answer to the Tea Party movement.  I can’t help but wonder why Liberals would even want to compare themselves to a group the so fondly call Tea Baggers and not so fondly call even fouler things I won’t repeat here.

They say a picture paints a thousand words and in this comparison I’d say more like a million…

Tea Party Protest in Boston

Occupy Wall Street protesters - the look on the faces says a lot

Tea Party Signs

Occupy Wall Street signs

Massive Tea Party Crowds - No Arrests or Violence

Large gathering of 99%ers = more than 700 arrests

So this is what's wrong with America? To be despised and hated?

NOT This...

Or this...

Don't worry about this....

and certainly not this...when ya gotta go, ya gotta go...

Yep, those 99%ers are just like the Tea Party members.  No difference whatsoever.  It’s obvious!

An Example The Occupiers Could Learn From

with 4 comments

The squatters in New York (they call themselves occupiers or the 99%) say life isn’t fair, it’s too hard, the big banks are ruining their lives, they can’t pay their loans, and it’s not their fault!

There are some people over in the Philippines they all need to meet.  Such a meeting would give them both perspective and an education.  They’d learn that squatting, whining, complaining, blaming doesn’t get anything done while rolling up your sleeves, putting on your thinking cap, and putting others before yourself can solve a lot of problems.

See for yourself.

If that doesn’t inspire you, you don’t have a pulse. Or perhaps a conscience…

Wall Street Protester Caught Fibbing…Just a Tad.

leave a comment »

You may have heard about the protests on Wall Street in New York over the weekend. Then again, maybe you didn’t. Turns out they weren’t that big of a deal, until that is, this guy popped up on video. Robert Stephens’ (with a PH) story sounds terrible, even heart breaking. At first glance and on face value, it makes you feel sympathy for the cause he is advocating and his reasons to protest the “Big Banks”.

But Mr. Stephens wasn’t using the intelligence that helped him graduate from Carlton College and got him into the George Washington University law school while shouting out his serious allegations.  He didn’t stop to think whether anyone listening would check into his heart-rending claims and reasons for doing what he did.

Oh dear…

Someone was listening and someone did some fact checking.  Merideth Jessup of The Blaze.com looked into the public records and found this:

“Phone inquiries into the county property records & taxpayer services office reveal that the Stephens family home is not and never has been in foreclosure, that property taxes had been paid in full this year and the remaining balance on their mortgage for the half-million dollar home [$500,000] is less than one year’s worth of tuition+fees at their son’s law school.”  Jessup then called Stephens’ mother, Marquita, where she admitted Chase Bank indeed was not “taking” their home from them. Instead, due to a recent “reduction in income,” they’ve decided to hold a “short sale.”

Mr. Stephens has since responded to the reports with a blog post where he tried to justify his antics and his dishonesty, calling the report, “a smear campaign by the right wing.”

Sorry Mr. Stephens, but you smeared yourself and your cause when you decided to resort to untruths, to manipulate the media, and public opinion.  You are wrong.  It’s too bad you can’t admit it, apologize for it, and learn from it.  Then, you’d really be putting those brains to work in a productive manner.
